Message from the Publisher

We had planned to resume History Magazine in July 2007. This proved impossible due to a lack of contributions. We were then faced with the choice of shutting down the Magazine, or continuing it in its sixth year in a different format.

Considering all the hard work so many have put into the Magazine, shutting down did not seem right.

Accordingly, Volume 6, which should have started in July 2007, now begins without issue numbers. Articles will be put up as received, the same system as we use for the Center for Indian Military History.

March 17, 2007

We have missed 15 issues in Volume 5 due mainly to the illness of a member of the editor's family. Additionally, the editor did not pass an exam as hoped, missing by 0.5%. So he has to keep studying till end April, and we may miss more issues.

An unfortunately brief issue: the editor continues to be out of town for an entire day each week for personal reasons. Only the note on RN TF 57 was specifically written for this issue. Croatia Army 2000 is from previously closed Contemporary Orbats files; the Israeli and US Iraq orbats appeared in our America Goes To War issues.
