V CORPS [Lt General Shute] |
The right hand corps of Third Army had advanced in a leapfrog manner towards Wattignes with 17th Division on the left, 38th Division on the right. They were succeeded by 21st and 33rd Divisions on 5th November and by 17th Division on 8th November. By the 11th 17th Division led the advance with the other three divisions in reserve because of the contracting nature of Third Army’s frontline. |
