The right hand corps of Third Army had advanced in a leapfrog manner towards Wattignes with 17^th Division on the left, 38^th Division on the right. They were succeeded by 21^st and 33^rd Divisions on 5^th November and by 17^th Division on 8^th November. By the 11^th 17^th Division led the advance with the other three divisions in reserve because of the contracting nature of Third Army’s frontline.
