Argentina Navy Major Warships Fleet List 1906
v.1.0 June 23, 2002

Source: Conway’s All The World’s Fighting Ships 1906-1921 Conway Publications Press, 1985

Because the book is focused on 1921 rather than 1906, it does not give armament data for 1906 ships.

The anomaly of cruisers five times the displacement of battleships can probably be explained by assuming the battleships listed below were coastal warships, but had bigger guns than the cruisers, earning the title battleship.

[Please note that the Belgrano below is not the same ship that was torpedoed and sunk during the 1982 Falklands (Malvinas) War, but a successor ship. The lost Belgrano was the ex US Navy cruiser CL 46 Phoenix, transferred in 1951 to the Argentine Navy (1939 commission).
