Area Militar 3 (HQ Barquisimeto) The states of Lara,
Yaracuy, Portuguesa, Cojedes, Guárico and eastern Trujillo.
Area Militar 4 (HQ Maracay)The federal capital and the
states of Carabobo, Aragua, Miranda, Sucre, Nueva Esparta
and northern Anzoátegui.
Area Militar 5 (HQ Maturín)The states of Monagas, southern
Anzoátegui and the Delta Amacuro Territory.
Area Militar 6 (HQ Ciudad Bolívar) The state of Bolívar and
the Amazonas Territory.
Venezuelan army units have traditional names but change
their numerical designations in accordance with those of the
superior formations to which they are subordinate
