The Mission Statement for the 404th FSB explains what
these units do[1]:
Execute Command and Control of subordinate commands and
organizations to provide Combat Service Support capabilities to
soldiers serving in Pacific AOR Combatant Commands to ensure
expeditionary war-fighting readiness and leverage national logistics
to sustain a transforming Army. Deploys in support of the
operational headquarters with the mission of providing integrated
and synchronized Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ALT)
support in the AOR in concert with the Theater Support Command
(TSC). The AFSB is ASC ‘s field integrator and is regionally aligned
and focused to serve as the AMC/ASC’s bridge between the generating
force and the operational force. Provides first stop for
coordinating ALT capabilities in support of Joint, Interagency and
Multinational (JIM) forces. Provides contingency contracting and
technology support teams to the Warfighter at the point of need.
Provides for and maintains Accountability for deployment support for
contractors on the battlefield. Provides technical assistance to all
units within the Pacific AOR to include National Guard and Reserve
units during preparation for deployment, equipment fielding,
Training Center rotations, RESET, reconstitution, modularity
transformation, Pre-Deployment Training Equipment Sets (PDTES), Left
Behind Equipment (LBE), Severe Weather Support, and Emergency
Support to FEMA organizations with the Pacific AOR. As the Senior AMC Commander
in the Pacific AOR, represents the CG, AMC as the single manager for
integration and synchronization of all force modernization,
readiness, and sustainment actions into a single effort to enhance
and support the peacetime mission and war fighting capability of the
U.S. Army.
