Trinidad and Tobago
The TTDF is reorganizing from its
previous regiment-based structure to an army. The Air Wing is now
designated as the Air Guard. The reserve structure is being
strengthened with additional permanent personnel and new barracks
are to be built for the 2nd Battalion, TT Regiment.
Major land bases are Omega, Teteron,
Camp Ogden, and Cumuto Barracks. Fixed wing aircraft are at Piarco
Airport, Port of Spain and Crown Point, Tobago, and helicopters at
Chauarames. The Air Guard has benefited from acquisition of US
aircraft provided for narcotics interdiction.
