Sightings of a “Mountain Regiment” refer to the Jebel Regiment, as jebel is the Arabic word for mountain.

 

The formal name of the south Oman Regiment is  “Katibat al Junoob Oman”

 

The Northern Frontier Regiment is also referred to as the Frontier Regiment. It was raised in 1971.
