specific to the China border. This despite the SFF being a commando
force. It operates in company-sized units for screening and
reconnaissance. Its origins are traced back to the CIA trained 22
Establishment set up for infiltration missions into Tibet, in the
wake of the 1962 War. While it no longer undertakes such missions,
the capability remains. The troops are parachute qualified, and
battalions consist of six companies Special Frontier Force (7 battalions)
