A British
military and police mission of 16 personnel visited Gambia in
2008 to prepare troops for deployment to Dafur. One company of
196 troops rotates on a six-months basis for duty with the HQ of
the UN Mission in Dafur. About 50 other troops are with other
peacekeeping missions.
