[2] French Escadrille = Flight, varying
numbers of aircraft in each. The French use the term Escadrille
as a way of preserving the heritage of famous WW1 and 2
squadrons. Accordingly, Escadrons are now air force wings.

[1] Readers will
notice the discrepancy regarding number of flights
between this and the 9 escadrilles given below by
scramble.nl. We do not attempt to explain the difference
in CWA.
[2] Please do not
consider either the unit list or helicopter
numbers/types assigned to each unit as definitive.
[3] Note the
different use of the word “detachment”. Normally this
signifies something less than a flight, but in this case
the detachment consists of two large flights, which are
equivalent to two small squadrons. In the case of the
PC-6s, the term detachment is as customarily used, with
two aircraft.
