Overseas Deployed Units
On the
French Army website, readers will see four regiments,
1er - 4e RSMA. These are not
military units, but akin to military reform/trade school units,
intended to give troubled youth who did not finish high school a
second chance. Each RMSA has several companies, each of which
teaches a particular trade.
A Large part of the overseas units (75%) are rotating companies
or squadrons from metropolitan French assigned for 4 months.
