UNIT ORGANIZATION
Infantry
The organizational
structure of the regiments and smaller units, like that of the
Brigades, is primarily based on the their equipment, training
and deployment.
The Infantry type Regiments
(Mechanized, Mountain and Jungle) consist primarily of :
A
Command and Service Company with a Reconnaissance Section
(MB‑230Gs) and
a Heavy Mortar Section (120 mm)
2 Infantry Companies, each with a Command Platoon and 3 Sections
of Riflemen
The Mechanized Regiment is
equipped with M-113APCs and VCTP AIFVs, while the mountain and
jungle regiments are equipped with light un-armoured transport
vehicles.
Cavalry.
The (Tank) Cavalry, and
Light Cavalry Regiments include Armoured Regiments.
The Armored (Tank) Cavalry
Regiments consist of:

Intelligence Group
Operations Group
Logistics Group
Command and Service Squadron with
Command Platoon,
Communications Section
Reconnaissance Section
Supply Section
Maintenance Section
Medical Section
3 Tank Squadrons (the 3rd squadron kept in
reserve)
The Armored Cavalry
Regiment’s tank squadrons are equipped either with TAM main
battle tanks or SK-105 Kuerassier light tanks, while its
reconnaissance units are equipped with AML-90s or Hummers .
Mountain Cavalry Regiments
consist of
Command and Service Squadron (as above)

Motorcycle Section (with 14+ Suzuki DR 350S)
Light Cavalry Regiments
comprise:

1 Light Squadron (equipped with AML-90 and Roland wheeled
recce vehicles, and M-3 half-tracks)
1 Tank Squadron (equipped either with AMX-13s or SK 105
Cuirassier
tank destroyers)
1 Reconnaissance Section (with 16 motorcycles)
Artillery
The Argentine field
artillery units are organized into groups consisting of two to
three field artillery batteries equipped either with M-56 Oto
Melara 105 mm pack howitzer; CITEFA Models 77/81 155 mm towed
howitzers or Mk F3 or VCA (Palmaria) 155 mm self-propelled
artillery pieces.
